Transgender women are now allowed to compete in the miss SA pageants

"Trans women are eligible to enter the miss SA pageant " the miss SA organization said on its website as entries opened on Monday .The organization also said that transgender women who will compete in the Miss SA pageants must have a valid South African ID document proving that their amended sex is female for them to be able to compete internationally.

Stephanie Weil of the miss SA organization said that they are delighted that the miss SA brand continues to provide a leading voice for not only the winners but also for all the young entrants and finalists who joins them as a part of their empowerment platform .she also said that they cant wait to meet the class of 2021 and introduce them to all of the South African nation and the world .
The miss SA organization wrote on their website that their contestants are young South African women of all backgrounds , appearances ,belief system and sexual orientation .Also that their tittle holders are women who uphold the true traits of beauty .Which means that everyone should be acceptable no matter of their skin color ,race ,tribe, gender or sexual orientation .Many people in SA also voiced their opinions on twitter after the announcement was made .Many of them were happy about the changes but some were not happy as they said that this was the shortest reign for Shudufadzo Musinda, the current Miss SA .The 25 year old was crowed Miss SA in 2020 ."Absolutely ridiculous that you allow trans gender people to enter making a spectacled of the show now...a miss SA should born a female" commented @Danie00127455 on twitter ,as many people were having mixed reactions about the matter ."Miss SA is accepting trans women this year .This is exciting news!!!!
