Transgender women are now allowed to compete in the miss SA pageants

 for the first time in the history of Miss SA pageants .Transgender women are now allowed to compete for tittle of Miss South Africa .The announcement was made by Miss SA organization on Monday  24 May 2021 when it  opened  entries for miss South Africa 2021 .

"Trans women are eligible to enter the miss SA pageant " the miss SA organization said on its website as entries opened on Monday .The organization also said that transgender women who will compete in the Miss SA  pageants must have a valid South African ID document proving that their amended sex is female  for them to be able to compete internationally.

Stephanie Weil of the miss SA organization said that they are delighted that the miss SA brand continues to provide a leading voice for not only the winners but also for all the young  entrants and finalists who joins them as a part of their empowerment platform .she also said that they cant wait to meet the class of 2021 and introduce them to all of the South African nation and the world .

The miss SA organization wrote on their website that their contestants are young South African women of all backgrounds , appearances ,belief system and sexual orientation .Also that their tittle holders are women who uphold the true traits of beauty .Which  means that everyone should be acceptable no matter of their skin color ,race ,tribe, gender or sexual orientation .Many people in SA also voiced their opinions on twitter after the announcement was made .Many of them were happy about the changes but some were not happy as they said that this was the shortest reign for Shudufadzo Musinda, the current Miss SA .The 25 year old was crowed Miss SA in 2020 ."Absolutely ridiculous that you allow trans gender people to enter making a spectacled of the show now...a miss SA should born a female" commented  @Danie00127455 on twitter ,as many people were having mixed reactions about the matter  ."Miss SA is accepting trans women this year .This is  exciting news!!!! "I want people to know that identity is not the only narrative of why I am here .I hope this will normalize different identities and I hope that the next queer ,bisexual and non-binary finalists to come will never have to be labelled by their identity ,they will just be considered miss South Africa finalists ".She said. Sibabalwe Gcilitshana told TIMESLIVE that she hoped to be visible and take up space that had not previously been held by people like her and actively represent people  from her community (LGBTQ+) who can respond with her experience . Sibabalwe was the first queer women to enter Miss SA in 2019

As the journey for the search of miss SA 2021 began on Monday  the 24 May 2021, I personally can`t wait to see what the  winner of miss South Africa 2021 has in store for us and what impact she will have on us as Miss SA 2021. Good luck to  everyone participating in miss SA 2021 pageant .

The 23-year-old student from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) seems to be conquering the world regardless of being blind. Mogajane is now doing his final year in language practices at TUT, Soshanguve campus.  Calvin Mogajane, went against all odds to fulfill his dreams of becoming an author. He launched his 3rd book earlier this month and the name of the book is titled “Strong Woman”. The book tells a story of family, loyalty, and a woman whose bravery changes everything, this book is set in the background of “Kwamhlaba uya lingana” and is breathtaking and a capturing story.
